Luminarie a Salerno - luci d'artista

Luminarie a Salerno - luci d'artista

From the panoramic wheel to the exhibition on Leonardo da Vinci, the illuminations, the markets and the sand castles: here there are all the unforgettable appointments that Salerno reserves for tourists for Christmas parties

Enchanted gardens, the most beloved fairy tales, planetary constellations and celestial phenomena, the Oriental charms, the circular evolutions, the sails and the sea. Return to Salerno the most important event of the year: the twelfth edition of Luci d’Artista. The inauguration, scheduled to Saturday 11 November 2017 in the Villa Comunale, opens the way for the installations that will remain until January 2018.

The event enhances creativity and imagination by bringing visitors in to a lovely universe. But Luci d’Artista is also an opportunity to discover the great historical, environmental, food and wine heritage of Salerno, a place that gave birth to the famous Medical School.

Like every Christmas, the city is transformed into an open-air museum, hosting the most spectacular and evocative display of light artwork in streets, squares and green areas. The fantasy takes life through the light, leaving everyone with the suspended breath. Four themes chosen: myth, dream, time and Christmas. To get insights into the characters and stories, you can use the Qr Code placed around the streets.

Among the news is the fascinating exhibition on Leonardo Da Vinci and the world’s highest panoramic wheel. For the children the appointment is in the Villa Comunale where in place of the Enchanted Garden, will be set up the Animal Zoo, the space decorated with luminaries that recalls mythological beasts and the characters of the most famous tales. Visitors can cross it to the edge of a sparkling train.

On the beautiful seaside and other areas of the town are set up the Christmas markets and the sand presepi. Salerno is dressed in thousands of colorful lights even in the squares and in the streets of the center: the tourists will  again remain open-minded, astonished by light games, waterfalls, planets, dragons and more.
