Every weekend from 6 to 22 December will take place in Taurasi the most awaited event of this Christmas, the "Christmas Wine Fest", with almost 15,000 participants on Facebook in just over a week. From the hundreds of comments that can be read online, it seems clear that the 'wine lover' fever has affected both young people and families, waiting to be able to walk through the picturesque vineyards and the characteristic illuminated streets of the village.

The aim of the event, the organization and the Municipality say, is to bring Taurasi in the coming years to become the new European capital of wine. The program of the event is full of suggestions, with exceptional artists and shows of international scope, not to mention moments dedicated to the culture of wine with guests such as Beppe Vessicchio, Luigi Moio, Piero Mastroberardino, Anna Maria Colao, Michele Scognamiglio, Matteo Lorito, Alfonso Pecoraro Scanio and other famous names.

Among the most anticipated appointments there is in fact precisely that with Prof. Michele Scognamiglio and the famous composer and conductor Beppe Vessicchio, who at the presentation of the book "Sorsi di Salute", will show how music can positively influence the growth of vines.

An event, the "Christmas Wine Fest", which will have as its protagonist the food and wine and which will take place throughout the medieval village of Taurasi, including its castle. The event has three different themes for the three weekends of December: the first weekend (6, 7, 8 December) will have as its theme the Middle Ages, with historical revisitations, the ancient melodies of the Bottari of Macerata, the fights between knights and the challenges between medieval families of the Company of the Rose and the Sword.

The second weekend (13, 14, 15 December) will have as its theme the music, with as a protagonist the international artist Robert Tiso, who for the first time will play the wine Taurasi through the rubbing of his famous crystal glasses. The third weekend (20, 21, 22 December) will have as its central theme Christmas, with gospel concerts, bagpipers, sacred songs and special effects to take your breath away.

And more sensory tours, tastings of local wines, visits to wineries and the special 'Area Talks' with free meetings with the protagonists of the world of wine by the MAVV Wine Art Museum in Portici. A magic and enthusiasm that have also infected the Master of crib Marco Ferrigno, symbol of San Gregorio Armeno and icon of Christmas around the world, who for the occasion will install a light poem to make shine the main street of the village.

The event is organized by the association Travelers in partnership with Visit Italy, the online guide to Italy, and sponsored by the City of Taurasi. Tickets for the Christmas Wine Fest 2019, available at christmaswinefest.eu
