Klimt exhibition comes to Naples: virtual art and images

Naples and Campania, thanks to the re-opening of museums and exhibition rooms, restart with their cultural appointments. 

For the first time in Naples the exhibition KLIMT Virtual Art and Images: from the 3rd May to the 31st July 2021in the renewed spaces of House of Pompeian at the Riviera di Chiaia in Villa Comunale of Naples. It is a virtual exhibition entirely dedicated to the Austrian artist Gustav Klimt, organized by Fast Forward, Alta Class Lab and Next Event in collaboration with the Department of Education, Culture and Tourism of the City of Naples and the virtual part made by Wiplab.

This virtual exhibition arrives in Naples after the success obtained in 2018 with Klimt Experience that was in the Basilica Spirito Santo.

Already during the first days of the exhibition, it was a great success! Evident the interest of the youth who registered constant participation. 

The exhibition is a multimedia audiovisual path dedicated to the most important representative of Noveau Art. 

Inside the "auditorium of the House of Pompeian, there are sixteen sits with 3D goggles. This is a new tool to enjoy art, called VR, that through the Oculus Quest teleports virtually the visitors inside the artwork. 

Crossing virtual works and accurate reproductions of his most important masterpieces, such as The Kiss, Giuditta I, Adele Bloch-Bauer, The Tree Life, Danae, The Three Ages of Woman. From the end of May, it will possible to see also the clothing worn by Adele Bloch-Bauer and Giuditta. 

The Virtual Exhibition of Klimt full respect the Covid-19 rules. 

• The entry is only under reservation and you must wear the mask and respect the distancing.
• Every visitor will have a disposable facial mask and the goggles are sanitized after every utilization.
• The distance between a sitting and another is 1.5 m.

Gustav Klimt (1862 - 1918) is one of the most important Austrian painters and one of the most representative artists of Art Nouveau, an artistic style known in Italy as "Liberty". 

His works are characterized by the strokes and harmonic curves of his subjects, where abstraction, elegance and decoration combine themselves. Klimt's women are ethereal, sweet, romantic but, at the same time, sensually malicious. 

The female figures painted by Klimt, often, return to the theme of femme fatale. Indeed he had a deep admiration for the women's body, which went beyond greatly the art world too. 

His most important artwork is The Kiss of course. It was displayed for the first time in 1908 and today it is exposed in the Österreichisch Galerie (Belvedere Gallery in Vienna). A man and a woman tenderly unite themselves in a sweet hug that lasts forever: two opposite universes that are united by love.
