The best neighborhoods of the city: the cutiest areas

For the most beautiful areas of Naples, in the true sense of the term, we must necessarily start with Mergellina and Posillipo, the city's pride and joy. In both cases, we find ourselves with the sea constantly illuminating our view, although in different ways. The first of the two makes the Caracciolo waterfront its must-see, with the Castel dell'Ovo accompanying the gaze that then overlooks the Gulf. Furthermore, it is easily connected to the historic center and is surrounded by pizzerias and restaurants overlooking the sea. The other is instead the "exclusive" area of Naples, a more chic and reserved place. Located on a picturesque headland, Posillipo offers stunning views of the Gulf of Naples and the iconic Vesuvius. It is the perfect choice for those who want to relax and enjoy a serene environment.

A convenient option in the Mergellina area could be the B&B Santa Lucia, a comfortable alternative to the luxury hotels along the waterfront. On the hill of Posillipo, we choose the BW Signature Collection Hotel Paradiso, a property that boasts an unforgettable view of the Gulf of Naples and Mount Vesuvius.

The best neighboroods to stay in Naples with the family

If you are travelling with your family, staying in the Piazza del Plebiscito area is probably the ideal choice. Staying there, you would be within walking distance of the Mergellina promenade, then the Villa Comunale and the Castel dell'Ovo. Let's not forget the picturesque and unique Borgo Marinari, another place of incredible charm. Via Toledo, the street for shopping and strolling, is also practically a stone's throw away, as are the streets of the historic centre leading to Spaccanapoli. All this, with plenty of public transport ready to help you untangle the city's streets.

Right in the area surrounding Piazza del Plebiscito we can find the Napoli B&B, a bed and breakfast that is very convenient in terms of location and structure. Another possible choice is the B&B Dell'Opera, just a few metres away; here too, comfort and logistical advantages rule.

The best neighborhoods to stay in Naples with friends

Change the target, change the area. If you are travelling with friends, the primary objective must be to have fun, to experience the hot movida in Naples at its best. Here, then, you are catapulted into the folkloristic streets of the historic centre, where every night can be a party and where you never sleep. The main meeting points are Piazza del Gesù, Piazza Bellini and Piazza San Domenico Maggiore, all within a few minutes' walk of each other. Alternatively, the Chiaia area, leading towards the Baretti di San Pasquale, comes in handy. We are talking about another cult location for the Neapolitan movida. In short, you are spoilt for choice, all you have to do is get comfortable and choose. You will fall for it in any case.

In the heart of the historic centre, a few steps from Piazza del Gesù and the Cloister of Santa Chiara, we find the Cabà bed&breakfast. A strategic position absolutely to be exploited. A stone's throw from the Baretti di San Pasquale, on the other hand, we have the Madà B&B, a really convenient solution for getting around the area using the metro or buses.

The best neighborhoods to stay in Naples for couples

Among the most romantic places in Naples to stay for a weekend of love has to be the Mergellina promenade. The dreamlike scenery of that magical area is all to be admired. Waking up and looking out over the beauty of the Gulf of Naples and Vesuvius is priceless, an experience to be enjoyed in the company of your loved one. If we move a few kilometres further up towards the hilly area, we have the Vomero instead. This is a sought-after and notoriously 'exclusive' district, but it also has some really high peaks of romance within it. In fact, it is there that we find enchanting places such as the Certosa di San Martino, Castel Sant'Elmo and the bewitching Villa Floridiana. In short, here too you are truly spoilt for choice.

In the convenient Via Kerbaker, a historic street in the Vomero area, we have at our disposal the Kerbaker 14, one of the best B&Bs in the neighbourhood. Really useful for getting around the whole area, but also for taking the metro or funicular to the centre. On the Mergellina seafront, on the other hand, we have the Relais sul Mare Boutique Hotel, a luxurious hotel with breathtaking views.

The safest areas to stay in Naples

The safety factor is one of the first things to take into account before booking with an establishment and organising your trip. It is by no means a discriminatory issue, every city has its more chaotic and less tranquil areas. Naples is not exempt from this of course, especially by virtue of its being Italy's third largest city by number of inhabitants. Therefore, a selection must also be made on the basis of these characteristics. Among the best neighbourhoods, we again emphasise Posillipo. Here we are far from the hustle and bustle of the centre, in a more secluded area of glitz and privacy. Alternatively, we give pride of place to Vomero, another district where you can breathe a different air, although there is plenty of nightlife here.

On Via Posillipo we have the B&B Lux, a smart solution for enjoying the luxury and breathtaking beauty of Posillipo. Returning instead to the Vomero, on Viale Michelangelo we have the B&B OGGI e DOMANI, a comfortable and quiet solution.

Now we look back at the center zone to underline a key element for the chose of the perfect trip: having fun with safety. The nightlife in Naples is definitely one of the most vibrant and enjoyable in the entire Italian peninsula. Bars, clubs, squares: the choices are truly diverse and intriguing. The best place to experience it all is undoubtedly the historic center. Full of alleys that come alive at night throughout the year, during summer evenings the lively atmosphere extends even to weekdays. Going into more detail, the hottest streets are those around Piazza Bellini, the University area and Orientale.

For a more budget-friendly option, there's the B&B Tribunali Platamon, right on the historic Via dei Tribunali. Another alternative could be the 4heavens_naples hotel on Via Duomo, which is also conveniently located for enjoying the nightlife.
